• Con un circuito urbano de 5 km por el centro del municipio, la prueba regresó a las calles tras ser suspendida por la pandemia

San Fulgencio volvió a celebrar este domingo su tradicional Carrera de Reyes, que en su VI edición, contó con la participación de 450 corredores. “Nos alegra haber podido retomar esta actividad tan característica de nuestro municipio, después del parón forzoso sufrido el año pasado con motivo de la situación sanitaria, que nos obligó a suspenderla”, ha manifestado la concejala de Deportes, Ana Mª Villena. 

Organizada por el Ayuntamiento de San Fulgencio en colaboración con la Diputación Provincial de Alicante y la empresa Ginssa, la prueba cuenta con dos vueltas al casco urbano del municipio, con salida y llegada a la plaza de la Constitución. Los deportistas de las diferentes categorías masculinas y femeninas (promesas, senior, y veteranos/as) recorrieron los 5 kilómetros de distancia, “siempre siguiendo todas las medidas de seguridad sanitaria estipuladas por la Generalitat Valenciana y la Conselleria de Sanidad en estos momentos”, ha manifestado Villena. 

De esta manera, el corredor Eetu Savolainen fue el ganador absoluto de la prueba, así como del podio masculino, con un tiempo de 14:14 minutos. Juho Ylinen y Jorge Mateu Fernández quedaron en segundo y tercer lugar, con tiempos de 14:24 y 14:48 minutos, respectivamente. Por su parte, Cristina Cartagena Miralles se alzó con el primer puesto del podio femenino, con un tiempo de 19:20 minutos. El segundo puesto fue para Cecilia Abellán Soler, quien marcara 19:29 en el cronómetro, mientras que Sara Moya Pulido se hizo con el tercer puesto, con una marca de 19:33 minutos. Para finalizar, también se entregaron los trofeos a los corredores con los disfraces más originales y divertidos.  

La edil ha destacado asimismo la participación de los niños y niñas del municipio, que se sumaron a esta celebración deportiva en las diferentes categorías de carreras infantiles. “Es una buena noticia que tanto jóvenes como los más pequeños se hayan animado a participar en esta edición, a través de la cual queremos fomentar la vida sana y el deporte para todas las edades”.


More than 400 runners take part in the 6th edition of the San Fulgencio Three Kings Race

This Sunday, San Fulgencio once again held its traditional Three Kings Race, this year for the sixth time, and was attended by 450 runners. “We are pleased to have been able to resume this activity so characteristic of our town, after the forced break suffered last year due to the health situation, which forced us to suspend it,” said the Councillor for Sports, Ana Maria Villena. 

Organised by the San Fulgencio Town Council in collaboration with the Alicante Provincial Council and the company Ginssa, the race has two laps around the town centre of the municipality, starting and finishing in the Plaza de la Constitución. The athletes from the different male and female categories (promising, senior, and veterans) covered the 5 kilometre distance, “always following all the health and safety measures stipulated by the Generalitat Valenciana and the Conselleria de Sanidad at this time,” said Villena. 

Thus, the runner Eetu Savolainen was the overall winner of the race, as well as the men’s podium, with a time of 14:14 minutes. Juho Ylinen and Jorge Mateu Fernández came second and third, with times of 14:24 and 14:48 minutes, respectively. Cristina Cartagena Miralles took first place on the women’s podium with a time of 19:20 minutes. Second place went to Cecilia Abellán Soler, who clocked 19:29, while Sara Moya Pulido took third place with a time of 19:33 minutes. Finally, trophies were also awarded to the runners with the most original and funniest costumes.  

The councillor also highlighted the participation of the children of the municipality, who joined in this sporting celebration in the different categories of children’s races. “It is good news that both youngsters and children have been encouraged to participate in this event, through which we want to promote healthy living and sport for all ages.
