San Fulgencio and San Antonio Abad

[wpseo_breadcrumb]

In January San Fulgencio celebrates its festivities in honor of its patron, of the same name, and its co-patron, San Antonio Abad. They are festivals that are characterized by a marked religious component, with the processions in honor of the two Saints on the 16th and 17th, or the “Blessing of the animals and the bread” on Saint Anthony’s day.

But there is also a part of a popular and traditional festival, such as the “Pedida de la Gallina”, in which the local authorities walk the streets of the town together with the music band and the neighbors who want to offer an animal.

The Saturday after these days the traditional Brotherhood Food is celebrated, where all the residents of the municipality meet to share, together with a good meal, a day of coexistence.
