- Desde el mes de julio, trece de la veintena de animales recogidos por el servicio municipal han sido adoptados o recuperados por sus propietarios
La Concejalía de Bienestar Animal del Ayuntamiento de San Fulgencio, que dirige Ana Mª Villena, ha hecho público el resumen de la gestión del servicio de recogida de animales abandonados en el municipio después de que hayan transcurrido seis meses desde la firma del contrato por un año con Anguimar S.L., la empresa concesionaria. De esta manera, Villena ha presentado el balance de la actividad, según la cual “desde julio del pasado año a este mes de enero, han sido adoptados todos los perros y dos gatos ferales que se encontraban en las instalaciones de la empresa concesionaria, incluyendo los que todavía permanecían en las de la anterior empresa, unos datos que nunca antes había tenido San Fulgencio”.
El municipio cuenta actualmente con una política de ‘sacrificio cero’, además de hacerse cargo de recabar datos de los animales recogidos, su cuidado veterinario y manutención, vacunas para la rabia y la recogida de animales muertos, así como de la implantación de microchip y la tramitación de pasaportes identificativos.
De esta manera, de los 18 animales abandonados que han sido recogidos por este servicio, seis de ellos (cuatro perros y dos gatos) han sido adoptados, mientras que siete, todos ellos de especie canina, han sido recuperados por sus dueños. “En estos momentos, hay únicamente dos gatos de los recogidos en nuestro término municipal disponibles para adoptar”, ha explicado Villena, indicando que los interesados deberán ponerse en contacto con la protectora ‘Caminando con ellos’, entidad mediante la cual la empresa adjudicataria promueve la adopción de los animales abandonados, a través de sus redes sociales o en el teléfono 618367119.
El Consistorio promueve así la tenencia responsable de mascotas, reforzada con la inscripción obligatoria para perros y recomendada para gatos y animales exóticos en el censo municipal. Una medida que, tal y como afirma la edil, “facilita mucho que cualquier mascota sea devuelta a su dueño lo antes posible en caso de que se pierda, y también reduce considerablemente las cifras de abandono”. En estos momentos, el registro cuenta con 1.775 animales censados, partiendo de los 1.560 registrados el año anterior. El procedimiento se realiza en las oficinas del registro municipal del casco urbano de la calle Trafalgar y también de la urbanización, ubicado actualmente en el Centro Social, mediante solicitud de cita previa.
La Concejalía también ha desarrollado un censo de colonias de gatos ferales en el municipio, “dentro del proyecto CES de ‘Captura, Esterilización y Suelta’ por el que se realiza el control del número de estos animales con el fin de asegurar sus cuidados en condiciones de salubridad, por el que se designa a una persona de referencia que se encargue de su cuidado y alimentación”, ha indicado Villena. Asimismo, el Ayuntamiento ha dispuesto un espacio acondicionado en la zona de la antigua depuradora para, tal y como ha informado la edil, “reubicar a aquellos grupos de felinos que puedan producir molestias a los vecinos, y que será gestionado por los voluntarios de la asociación ‘La voz animal’”.
“Se cumple así el compromiso con el bienestar animal adquirido por este equipo de gobierno desde el inicio de la legislatura”, ha afirmado la concejala, quien ha indicado que San Fulgencio “siempre ha sido un municipio muy animalista y comprometido con el bienestar de los animales”.
San Fulgencio Town Council encourages the adoption of abandoned animals in the municipality

The Animal Welfare Department of the San Fulgencio Town Council, headed by Ana Mª Villena, has made public the summary of the management of the collection service for abandoned animals in the municipality after six months have passed since the signing of the one-year contract with Anguimar S.L., the concessionary company. The municipality currently has a ‘zero culling’ policy, as well as taking charge of collecting data on the animals collected, their veterinary care and maintenance, rabies vaccinations and the collection of dead animals, as well as the implantation of microchips and the processing of identification passports.
Thus, of the 18 abandoned animals that have been collected by this service, six of them (four dogs and two cats) have been adopted, while seven, all of them canines, have been recovered by their owners. “At the moment, there are only two cats of those collected in our municipality available for adoption,” explained Villena, indicating that those interested should contact the protective ‘Walking with them’, an entity through which the company promotes the adoption of abandoned animals, through their social networks or by calling 618367119.
The Consistory thus promotes responsible pet ownership, reinforced with the mandatory registration for dogs and recommended for cats and exotic animals in the municipal census. A measure which, as the councillor states, “makes it much easier for any pet to be returned to its owner as soon as possible if it is lost, and also considerably reduces the number of abandoned pets”. At the moment, the register has 1,775 animals registered, up from 1,560 the previous year. The procedure is carried out at the municipal registry offices in the town centre on Trafalgar Street and also in the urbanisation, currently located in the Social Centre, by appointment.
The council has also developed a census of colonies of feral cats in the municipality, “within the CES project of ‘Capture, Sterilisation and Release’ by which the number of these animals is controlled in order to ensure their care in healthy conditions, whereby a reference person is designated to be responsible for their care and feeding,” said Villena. Likewise, the Town Hall has set up a space in the area of the old water treatment plant to, as the councillor reported, “relocate those groups of felines that may be a nuisance to neighbours, and which will be managed by volunteers from the association ‘La voz animal'”.
“This fulfils the commitment to animal welfare made by this government team since the beginning of the legislature”, said the councillor, who indicated that San Fulgencio “has always been a very animal-friendly municipality and committed to animal welfare”.

Die Abteilung für Tierschutz des Stadtrates von San Fulgencio, die Ana Mª Villena leitet, hat die Zusammenfassung der Verwaltung des Sammeldienstes für ausgesetzte Tiere in der Gemeinde veröffentlicht, nachdem sechs Monate seit der Unterzeichnung des Vertrages für ein Jahr mit Anguimar SL, dem Konzessionär, vergangen sind. Auf diese Weise hat Villena die Bilanz der Aktivität vorgelegt, wonach “von Juli letzten Jahres bis zu diesem Januar alle Hunde und zwei verwilderte Katzen, die sich in den Einrichtungen des Konzessionärs befanden, adoptiert wurden, einschließlich derer, die noch in denen des vorherigen Unternehmens verblieben, Daten, die San Fulgencio noch nie hatte”.
Die Stadtverwaltung verfolgt derzeit eine Politik des “Null-Keulens” und ist darüber hinaus für die Erfassung der Daten der eingesammelten Tiere, ihre tierärztliche Versorgung und Pflege, die Tollwutimpfungen und die Abholung toter Tiere sowie für die Einführung des Mikrochips und die Bearbeitung der Identifikationspässe verantwortlich.
So wurden von den 18 ausgesetzten Tieren, die von diesem Dienst abgeholt wurden, sechs (vier Hunde und zwei Katzen) adoptiert, während sieben, allesamt Hunde, von ihren Besitzern wiedergefunden wurden. “Im Moment gibt es nur zwei Katzen von denen, die in unserer Gemeinde gesammelt wurden, die zur Adoption zur Verfügung stehen”, erklärte Villena und wies darauf hin, dass Interessierte die Schutzorganisation “Walking with them”, eine Einrichtung, durch die das Unternehmen die Adoption verlassener Tiere fördert, über ihre sozialen Netzwerke oder telefonisch unter 618367119 kontaktieren sollten.
Das Konsistorium fördert somit die verantwortungsvolle Haustierhaltung, verstärkt durch die obligatorische Registrierung für Hunde und empfohlen für Katzen und exotische Tiere in der städtischen Volkszählung. Eine Maßnahme, die, wie der Bürgermeister erklärte, “stark erleichtert jedes Haustier zu seinem Besitzer so schnell wie möglich zurückgegeben wird, falls es verloren ist, und auch deutlich reduziert die Zahlen der Aussetzung. Momentan sind im Register 1.775 Tiere registriert, im Vorjahr waren es noch 1.560. Das Verfahren wird in den Büros der städtischen Registratur des Stadtgebiets der Trafalgar Street und auch in der Urbanisation, die sich derzeit im Sozialzentrum befindet, nach Vereinbarung durchgeführt.
Die Abteilung hat auch eine Zählung der Kolonien von verwilderten Katzen in der Gemeinde entwickelt, “im Rahmen des CES-Projekts ‘Capture, Sterilisation and Release’, durch die die Kontrolle der Anzahl dieser Tiere durchgeführt wird, um ihre Pflege in gesunden Bedingungen zu gewährleisten, die eine Bezugsperson benannt wird, die für ihre Pflege und Fütterung verantwortlich ist”, sagte Villena. Auch hat der Stadtrat einen Raum im Bereich der alten Kläranlage für konditioniert zur Verfügung gestellt, wie der Bürgermeister berichtet, “verlagern die Gruppen von Katzen, die Unannehmlichkeiten für die Nachbarn verursachen können, und wird von Freiwilligen aus dem Verein verwaltet werden ‘Die Tierstimme’.
“Damit wird die Verpflichtung zum Tierschutz erfüllt, die diese Regierungsmannschaft seit Beginn der Legislaturperiode eingegangen ist”, sagte der Stadtrat, der darauf hinwies, dass San Fulgencio “schon immer eine sehr tierfreundliche Gemeinde war und sich für das Wohlergehen der Tiere eingesetzt hat”.
