- Los recorridos incluirán actividades de ‘birding’ (observación de aves) y trayectos senderistas para la divulgación del patrimonio natural y cultural
El Ayuntamiento de San Fulgencio ha dado a conocer las nuevas rutas ecoturísticas programadas por la Concejalía de Turismo para todo el año 2022. Se trata de siete nuevos itinerarios que tienen la intención de “dar a conocer, tanto al visitante como a los residentes de San Fulgencio, la riqueza natural y patrimonial que el municipio tiene para ofrecer”, ha informado Darren Parmenter, concejal responsable del área.
El edil de Turismo ha manifestado que se trata de una actividad que cuenta con mucha popularidad entre la ciudadanía, por lo que “hemos preparado una programación muy completa, con casi una ruta mensual hasta el mes de noviembre”, en la que se podrán contemplar zonas del municipio como “la huerta y la parroquia de San Fulgencio, el barranco y yacimiento arqueológico de La Escuera, o la sierra del Molar”, además de localizaciones cercanas como las dunas y playa de Guardamar, junto con la desembocadura del río Segura. Los recorridos tendrán distancias comprendidas entre los 5 y 10 kilómetros sin mucho desnivel, “con el objetivo de que pueda participar la mayor cantidad de personas sin necesidad de tener una gran preparación física”, ha indicado el concejal. Todas las rutas contarán con la asistencia de un guía y se realizarán tanto en castellano como en inglés.
La ruta más próxima, organizada para el domingo 24 de abril, recorrerá el entorno del Hondico del Amorós y la huerta de San Fulgencio para llevar a cabo la observación de aves o ‘birding’. “Nos encontramos en un entorno en el que viven muchas especies diferentes, y en el que se pueden observar en su medio natural sin perturbaciones”, ha señalado Parmenter. Esta actividad fue de las más destacadas por el Consistorio durante su intervención en la Feria Internacional de Turismo FITUR de este año. Con 8 kilómetros de distancia, el punto de salida del recorrido será el área recreativa ‘El Oasis’, a partir de las 9:30 horas.
Por su parte, José Sampere, alcalde de San Fulgencio, ha felicitado al área de Turismo “por el gran trabajo desempeñado en los últimos años con esta actividad”, ya que “se trata de una forma muy interesante de mostrar nuestro municipio y todos los emplazamientos de interés con los que cuenta, más allá de la típica estampa de sol y playa”. Asimismo, Sampere ha animado a la población a participar de las mismas, al ser “una oportunidad para hacer deporte y mejorar nuestra forma física mientras conocemos un poco más el entorno que nos rodea”.
Los interesados/as podrán inscribirse a las mismas a través de este formulario online, disponible también en las redes sociales del Ayuntamiento para cada una de las rutas según avance su fecha de realización. Asimismo, los diferentes itinerarios podrán consultarse a través de la Oficina de Información Turística de San Fulgencio, ubicada en la calle Ámsterdam de la urbanización La Marina. San Fulgencio Tourism Department announces its year of ecotourism routes with some new additions for 2022
- The routes will include birding activities and hiking trails to discover the natural and cultural heritage of the municipality
San Fulgencio Town Council has announced the new ecotourism routes planned by the Department of Tourism for the whole of 2022. There are seven routes in total which aim to “show visitors and residents of San Fulgencio the natural and heritage richness that the municipality has to offer,” said Darren Parmenter, councillor responsible for the area.
The Councillor for Tourism has stated that this is an activity that is very popular with the public, so “we have prepared a very full programme, with almost an activity every month until November”, in which you can see areas of the municipality such as “the orchard and the parish church of San Fulgencio, the ravine and archaeological site of La Escuera, or the Sierra del Molar”, as well as nearby locations such as the dunes and beach of Guardamar, along with the mouth of the river Segura. The routes will have distances of between 5 and 10 kilometres without much gradient, “with the aim that the greatest number of people can participate without the need for any great physical exertion,” said the councillor. All the routes will have the assistance of a guide and will be conducted in both Spanish and English.
The first route, organised for Sunday 24th April, will take in the area around Hondico del Amorós and the San Fulgencio orchards for the purposes of birdwatching. “We are in an environment where many different species live, and where they can be observed in their natural environment without being disturbed,” said Parmenter. This activity was one of the most highlighted by the department during its presentation at this year’s FITUR International Tourism Fair. With a distance of 8 kilometres, the starting point of the route will be the recreational area ‘El Oasis’, starting at 9:30 am.
For his part, José Sampere, Mayor of San Fulgencio, congratulated the Tourism Department “for the great work carried out in recent years with this activity”, as “it is a very interesting way of showing our municipality and all the places of interest it has, beyond the typical sun and beach image”. Sampere has also encouraged the population to participate in these events, being “an opportunity to do sport and improve our fitness while learning a little more of the environment that surrounds us”.
Those interested can sign up for the routes using this online form that will also be available on social media for each of the routes as the date of the event progresses.
