San Fulgencio hires two unemployed people through the Ecovid employment programme

  • The City Council has hired two construction workers for maintenance and repair tasks with the aim of promoting employment

San Fulgencio Town Council has recently taken on two new construction workers through the ECOVID employment programme for the recruitment of people over 30 years of age who are unemployed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. This action has been possible thanks to a grant within the framework of the strategic subsidy plan of LABORA, Valencian Employment and Training Service, from the Regional Ministry of Sustainable Economy, Productive Sectors, Trade and Labour. The programme is also financed by the European Social Fund (ESF) of the Valencian Community.

The aim of this programme is to grant incentives for the hiring of unemployed people by local entities, within the framework of the Avalem Experiencia Programme. In this sense, the aim is to ensure appropriate labour integration policies aimed at those groups that have greater difficulties in finding employment. All of this with the aim of providing work, experience and sustaining economic activity.

The Councillor for Employment and Training, Ana Mª Villena, explained that “the grant amounts to a total of 30,348 euros, and has allowed the incorporation of these two workers with a one-year contract”. The main function of both employees will be to carry out maintenance and repair work in the municipality. Villena has indicated that this is an employment programme that the Town Hall has been requesting since its creation, at the beginning of the pandemic, as “we believe that this and all the aid we can obtain is very necessary to be able to lend a hand to those residents of the municipality who are having a hard time because of the health situation”.
